EIR/Sitka Dread

Post by Diane Kauffmds »

Guitar #3 for the Elkins event. I made this box a couple of years ago and didn't finish it. It just needs a neck and finish. It's a long scale 25.4" dreadnought. I made this before I started forward shifting the bracing.

The rosette is a commercially made one and not one that I make for my guitars now. The end wedge is just a piece of binding, also uninspired. But, she's solidly built and I thought I'd finish her and offer her as an entry level guitar.

Well, it's actually more of an OM/dread hybrid. I based it on measurements I found online, which ended up not being either body type. I got busy doing other things, so it's been languishing around the shop. It's time to finish her now.

Thank you for comment.
