Thanks Kevin,

I have the fret board glued on and I cut out and installed my hawk in the moon logo. When I was digging through my pearl stash I found a mostly white gold MOP large enough for my moon. I put the gold on the bottom of the moon and it washed to white toward the top. The gold really helps tie it into the the gold mop elephants. After inlaying the elephants I really like my 1" round logo allowing the use of a drill bit.

Here are a few pictures along the way.

It really looks great John. I used bronze MOP for some of the leaf elements in my vine inlay for the 00. The color really pops in the logo.

Awesome little 00 John. Your hawk/moon logo looks superb set against that amboyna headplate. I think your niece is gonna luv this one. Are you going to chamfer-out the bottom of the two slots for string clearance & if so, how do you go about it...?

Yes I did do that as part of prep. Mine are square. I decide how far down I want them and draw a pencil line then I run a ruler against the sides of the slots and use a scalpel to mark the cut lines. I also mark a bit less than half way down in the slots. I cut the edges of the ramp with a razor saw using the slots them self as a guide but also keep an eye on the lines that I mark. I cut until I reach the end of the ramp and the depth of the ramp. Once the edges are cut I can remove the waste with a sharp chisel.

Thank you JV and Diane,

Today I will finish spraying the body with EM6000 WB lacquer. I padded on Royal-Lac on the neck.

What kind of spruce are you using for the top John?

Diane, that top is Lutz Spruce. It is nicely quartered and has great tap tone, but has a bit more run out than I like. So the top is a bit two toned depending on the angle of the light.
