I liked the look of it. LOL Besides, sound is most important. I've never played Lutz. I've always liked engelmann, until I built the 00 with white spruce. Now, I like white spruce, which seems to be more responsive than engelmann, but with the richness of engelmann.johnnparchem wrote:Diane, that top is Lutz Spruce. It is nicely quartered and has great tap tone, but has a bit more run out than I like. So the top is a bit two toned depending on the angle of the light.Diane Kauffmds wrote:What kind of spruce are you using for the top John?

And Lutz is a Englemann\White hybrid! A bit of both woods.Diane Kauffmds wrote:I liked the look of it. LOL Besides, sound is most important. I've never played Lutz. I knew it was a hybrid; I've oft wondered at the difference in tone between engelmann, sitka and lutz. I hope to hear a sound sample when you finish.

Well I am getting a lot closer just need to make a nut and saddle.
I used an LMI vacuum clamp to glue on the bridge and pounded in the frets with a bit of LMI glue.
Just needs some bone
