That's a beautiful set of wood and a nice looking guitar coming out of it!

I am having to restrain myself from hurrying, I want to see some lacquer on it to see how the grain pops!

All in good time. A fellow named Guy Lautard has written a series of books called "The Machinist's Bedside Reader," which are collections of assorted machining tips, stories, small projects, etc. He's done three volumes.

In one of them he included "The Old Master's Secret:"

There is no secret, except knowing what good work is, and taking the time to do it that way.

Patience!

I have the body routed, April picked out the design she wants on the tail wedge. I had to split a piece of the binding to go on the edges of the black wedge. I fitted it into the slot. I needed a little help to glue and clamp it in place. I found the perfect jig to hole the body for gluing! More pictures.

Made some more progress, I installed the bindings on the back, the bindings and abalone purfling on the top. Wow, it is looking great!

I also put bindings on the headstock. I split a piece so it would not be so wide and put a purfling strip under it. It turned out nice!
