After long consideration, I decided to finish these with a sprayed-on water-based lacquer-like finish (threads on Earlex sprayer and Brite-Tone finishes in the finishing section). Although I have varnished a lot of boats and doors by hand, I'm a complete beginner at instrument finishing and am not completely happy with the finishing but then I was expecting perfection, and these are first guitars. Today I took the time to set up clamps and cauls and glued one of the bridges; the other will happen tomorrow. Then the nuts, tuners and setup. Steve Heizer, who has been a fount of experience and encouragement, has very kindly invited me to join him at a luthiers' event in a couple of weeks (message in the events section), so I want to get them completed, and then can fine tune the finishes.

Very very nice. Kind of wishing I would have started two at the same time. As you posted way earlier, so many jigs and fixtures. Your guitars look fantastic - two earns bragging rights.
