My 000 Deep Body Kit

Post by John J »

Hello all. Just got the kit today (the woods, already put the mold together) and I thought I would post my effort start to finish.
I will take any and all advice.

Marking the sides for cutting to length. I used the Bohin extra-fine chalk pencil I picked up on Amazon to mark on the EIR. Works great.

Cutting the sides. A little nervous at this point. All went well. Fit and then glued the neck and tail blocks and started on the kerfing. It seems to be moving along now. Getting fun.

Looks like you got a good start. I always hate trimming the rims. It makes life a lot easier if they are not cut too short.

That's some really nice rosewood you've got there.

Got the top edge sanded flat and then contoured the slope towards the neck.

Got the back rim contoured. When I set the back on there is a gap at the neck block. It seems about right. When I push down it fits tight all the way around.

Wasn't real clear on the rosette. This seems to work.
