Thanks for the compliments! I wish I could play as well as my nephew, he was very excited to see how well my guitar sounded. I added another link to him playing it.

I think that my next build will be another dread with rosewood sides and back with white bindings and herring bone purfling. Probably for my nephew.

I have started on my alligator strap. I have started cutting it out. Anyone have a cool way to make the strap adjustable?

I spent a little time today on the design of an adjustable strap. Here is what I have come up with. I have the backing that will go on the back of the strap roughed out. I took some of the scraps from the backing and cut them into the parts to attach the buckle and just laid them out on the strap. I will then use them as a pattern and cut them out of the gator pieces. Then I get to sew and rivet it all together!

I cut out the Alligator parts and glued them on the strap. Next I will stitch them on, glue on the backing and then lace or sew ( I haven't decided yet) around the perimeter of the strap. It is turning out very nice!

John, you know that I have to build another kit for my daughter so I will be in touch!

More Pictures!

Very nice. Have you thought about selling those? I think there would be a market for an upscale guitar strap/
