More photos as requested. Braces are mostly carved and sanded. I'll probably do some more touch up on them. The back doesn't really have any curl or figure to speak of, but I like the honey/amber color.

Here's a pic of the bridge I roughed out from the old marimba bar. 2 1/4 string space. I really wish I knew what type of rosewood this is. My friend found an old marimba in the trash, brought it home and was going to rebuild it. He threw out the frame and left the bars in a box in his barn for several years then offered them to me. A luthier and tonewood purveyor have said it looks and smells brazilian to them, but the prevailing wisdom is that old marimbas were made out of honduran rosewood. Either way its beautiful stuff in my opinion.

I haven't posted any pics lately, but I'm in the finish stages. I'm using tru oil again. Photos don't really capture the colors of the black acacia well. I used curly maple binding and added a thin black line.

I like that rosette too, very nice. Looks like it will be a great guitar!
