Got the tail wedge routed and cut, and then mostly finished up the soundboard. Once I make the clamping cauls for my go-bar deck I can get the soundboard on. I need to put on the soundhole braces too...

Got the box closed, and then routed out the slots for the bindings. It worked well. I decided for this build that I would not use purfling, just binding. I was going for very simple, especially since the whole bracing of the top is a bit experimental...I don't know if this guitar will actually hold together! Anyway, looking at it I need to stain the rosette to set it apart from the soundboard. The rosette is mahogany as well, cut from a much more curly section of wood and then oriented 90 degrees to the soundboard to give some cross grain strength near the rosette. Ideally it would have been EIR too, to match the bindings, but I just didn't have any left over. Anyone know a good wood stain to turn that mahogany rosette darker to better match the EIR?

very clean looking work, TJ. I really like the lattice bracing and double sides

Started working on the bridge this week. I had to make a jig out of scrap, to cut the saddle slot correctly. I think it worked. I'll start shaping the bridge next.

Well...I'm almost there. I finished the finishing step...I think. I used Dave's Tru Oil instructions, and I really like the finish, especially on Mahogany. On to the setup next!
