After struggling with side bending I finally got started on #1.

Looks good Alain! How did you bend those sides? I've heard Padauk can be tough.

Bending the sides. I disassemble my mold and put the two halves together and use it as a bending form. Different but it works for me and saves me building a whole nuther thing.

The Padauk sides kicked my ass for a long time. I snapped and ruined three sets. I ended up thinning them to .75" and soaking them overnight in a concoction of water downy and ethylene glycol (rv antifreeze). overkill, maybe but I was determined to avenge my aggravation. I also followed alot of advice I got from members of this forum. Patience is king.

Glueing the neck block. Lots of clamps (maybe overkill) but it stuck

Gotta feel good , Padauk is one of the most difficult woods to bend. You dun guuuuud

Didn't like the look of the kerfed lining. Decided to make solid lining for the top. Three layers of western red cedar.

Installing end wedge

Bindings and end wedge will be white oak. purfling will be two piece washburn style from LMI.
