Here's some pictures of the binding/purfling on the back. I could be real picky and and find about twenty places where I think there are issues but since this is only my second binding job and the first time using wood bindings I think it came out okay.

The binding and purfling scheme looks good. I like the contrasts of the woods. I have not been brave enough to miter the both the end wedge and the back strip. I am looking forward to see how the Bearclaw looks after it is finished; should be wild.

Good job David,
Intalling wood binding is not as easy as it may look. You have done fine. I too have yet to brave mitering those purfling lines, it too is probably harder than it looks.
Is your binding Walnut? How did it bend?

The bindings are walnut and they bent just fine. As for the mitered purfling, it's not too terribly hard to do except on the back with the purfling on the backstrip, the purfling that goes around the perimeter of the guitar gets mitered at both ends where it mates up with each end of the backstrip.

I got two orphaned sides of quarter sawn walnut I'm going to cut into bindings. They are about 3/16" thick so they can be brought down fine. I'm going to use them on a cherry, and on a maple guitar down the road.

You dog you!, I also have a nice set of curly cherry B&S which I plan to use walnut bindings on! (copycat)!

Ooooh! That's going to look awesome under finish. How hard was it installing the purfling? Did you glue it to the walnut prior to bending?

Wow! Your bindings and the combination of fiber and shell purflings look great together.
