Neil, it's really getting there. I bet it looks nice under finish.
Keep at it.

I still have some slight imperfections that I need to fill with CA glue so I sealed the body with 1 pound cut of ultra blonde shellac. This shows what the final tint of the woods will be:

Thanks! I've been sweating getting everything level but looking at the pics all I can see is where the rosette tore out during routing and where the router bit in a little too much when I was doing the purfling trench and then how the purfling doesn't match up at either end...yeesh! I'm going to try to fill in what I can with CA and sawdust then maybe make a couple of decorative rosewood inserts where the purfling doesn't line up and try and inlay them.

FWIW the top rings wonderfully. Not too long but it's got a strong tap tone. It all hinges on the bridge though.

I've been trying to come up with an idea on how to fill in torn out purfling. Previous attempts at splicing in multiline purfling hasn't been successful so I opted to do some decorative inlay. I traced a guitar pick on some rosewood scrap and bound them with fine BWB purfling.

Thanks, John,

When I told a friend what I intended to do he asked if I was going to do a vine inlay or do some nautical inlays. I don't know if he was serious or having a senior moment but just had to laugh about that. Maybe one day, but I just want to get this first one finished!
