Here are a couple of shots of the top binding drying. Sorry, no shots of the back binding.

And the opposite side:

And more shots:

And a shot of the end wedge. Note, the wedge is upside down......did I mention how smart I am??? Sorry about the out of focus shot. Also, the fit of the binding looks better now that it is scraped flush.

I inlaid the African blackwood fretboard a couple of weeks ago. Today I thicknessed it down to 0.220" thick. Here are a couple of shots of the fretboard that aren't focused too well. I used the K5 Ukulele inlays because I like the Maltese cross in it. It's close to a pattern Martin uses on some of their high end instruments. The difference is they use two diamonds at the 5th and 9th frets......but it's an odd size diamond.

Yesterday, I was off work so I trimmed the headstock to final length. I also spent quite a bit of time getting the neck fit to the body. It unfortunately was angled back too far so I had to remove material from the upper part of the heel which I don't like doing. Now it it's right on centerline and the elevation is right where I think it should be.

If the weather warms a bit, I'll go out in the shop and fret the fretboard.

Looks like we will be hearing this instrument soon. It is looking really good. Your repair looked really good. I cut back my heel tail to about the binding line, that gives me a bit of a reveal with the end cap glued on.

Three tasks to complete before I start prep for finish:

- Seating the frets

- Inlaying my name on the headstock

- Tapering the end of the slots in the headstock so the strings won't touch.
