thanks everyone. I'm having alot of fun with it and trying to improve with each step.I was pretty happy with the miters also especially for a first try.

Skb: No one noticed your rosette, yours truly included. Don't tell on yourself,the nit pickers will find it maybe and when they do they are told it is design innovations....!!!

Huh? His rosette looks great! I zoomed in and didn't see any flaws...and if you are talking about the shell isn't centered in the wood ring.....well, that's right, it is a design innovation!

made some progress on the top with some abalone. I've only scraped down a small area to see how it looks. So far not too bad.
