Looks really nice Bruce. I imagine the locust is similar in density to walnut, or between walnut and maple.

Actually Kevin, on the Janka hardness scale, Black Walnut is 1010, Sugar Maple is 1450, but Black Locust tops them both at 1700. That's one of the reasons I wanted to try a Black Locust guitar. I think only Hickory, Pecan and Osage Orange are harder in North America, except for a few species (like Persimmon and Mesquite I think) that are harder, but do not get big enough for lutherie.
