Working on a stew mac OM kit and the diagram is showing 3 reinforcements strips for each side of the guitar. That sounds light and I believe I used 4 on my Martin 000 kit. How many do you use and how critical is the placement of each of the strips?

I used 3. I guess it depends how paranoid you are about a side splitting.
