Fish glue is an excellent choice for your top bracing. It's basically another form of hide glue, without the inherent problems of hot hide glue. Just make sure you remove every bit of your original glue, before gluing your braces.

It wouldn't hurt to glue a couple of pieces of scrap wood with it before hand, to get the feel for it. It's been a long time since I've used it. If I remember right, the working time is similar to Titebond 1.

just another 2 cents here. I probably would have made this same post when I did my kit thinking it was nuts to try and remove the braces at my skill level. Just adding encouragement. You can do it. I would practice trying to get them off unharmed just for the skill level up. I have now removed several braces due to various issues both front and back but was unable to re-use them. But I had fun learning to make new ones. Or, you can order a cnc set. Johns' Adi set are super nice. Gaining these skills inside the guitar will help your confidence when your work is showing on the outside.

Hi guys...I'm back! Sorry for the absence.

Reading through the thread here, I definitely would remove those braces and redo. I encourage you to use the fish glue. I'm a huge proponent of biological protein glues. With the exception of s couple of applications when building, I use HHG in all aspects of major construction. Where HHG has a little learning curve, fish glue is straight forward.

Just make sure you remove every bit of the Titebond before regluing, and you're golden.

The vinegar/water mixture does an amazing job of cleaning up the old glue.

I also have learned that a black-light flashlight can be used to see where glue residue remains.
