How do you finish a rosewood fretboard? Give me my options, and let me know what doesn't work please.

I just use lemon oil or fret board oil. Rub it in wipe off the excess.

You don't "need" anything - wood does not have to be fed. But it can sure be made to look good with a few drops of Mineral Oil that everyone seems to have a bottle of (it's baby oil without the smell, and I think lemon oil without the smell, too). When you change strings, just rub a paper towel with a few drops of oil parallel with the frets and work your way down the fretboard, adding a drop or two as needed:

I used to use lemon oil (mineral oil with fragrance and color). I've found that yellow of lemon oil stains spruce when I french polish. This of course, isn't an issue with a dark fretboard, but I've switched to clear mineral oil for all woods.

I am a fan of 3 in 1 oil Martin used that up till a few years ago I think they use duck wax now.
