So I've recut the two tear drops and purchased some new, fresh thin super glue. I reglue it and let set overnight with no accelerator to let it soak in as much as possible. I ran it through the sander this afternoon and it looks like it did the trick. Thanks for the help. For future reference when doing inlay this way, I wrote the purchase date on the glue bottle so that I could be mindful of ifs "Freshness".
