I put together a Strat kit this week. I've had the guitar strung for about 3 days now, and I like the intonation and the action of it.
However, the B string, though tuned, makes a high, buzzing noise when I strum down. When I strum up it sounds perfect, though. Also, if I strum further up the neck, past the 15th fret, it also sounds fine. If I hold a fret, the buzzing goes away, but the notes are a little sharp.
I'm new to playing and building guitars, so I'm not really sure what the problem might be. Does anyone have advice? Should I give the neck a few days to settle?

Re: B String Buzz
does it go away when fretted ? if it does you want to check the nut also what is the neck relief and action heights? You saddle may be adjusted too low .
1st I would check that the nut and saddle are not the problem then change strings .
