it is not impossible but you will have a hard time finding something to fit it perfectly. The rosettes are the same that are used on the production models . What may happen when you lift a rosette is the wood that separates the rings of the rosette may crack.

The only thing I can think of is to make a plug to fit the sound hole so you can establish a center point, then cut out the rosette with a router leaving whatever recess you need for a replacement, which would probably need to be at least slightly larger.
