Using go bar deck to glue top and back

Post by sammyjit »

I have a go bar deck I have been using from Blues Creek Guitars. Are those default gobars too long for gluing the top and back to the sides? Should I shorten the go bar rods? Or how many inch pounds of force is necessary?

Yes they are long. depending on what your making you need a variety of lengths.

I tried this. The bars were bent over pretty good, but they were doing there job-or so I thought. When I came in the next day, they had all split in two and shed off sharp little fiberglass shards. So, I built spool clams and I'll need to order more bars before I do my next build. Live and learn-I should have known better.
