I radius the entire rim including the heel and tail block. I radius all of the braces and then flatten a couple of inches in the center of the transverse brace. That still leaves a slight curve on the heel block running perpendicular to the fret board. This is not a big deal. After the top is glued on I sand top under the fret board flat.

I have no problem with the method Tim describes, you do need a jig so you you can accurately put the 1.3 degree angle into the upper bout of the rims. I would still radius the transverse brace and flatten the center.

It think you can do either and be just as close to Martin specs. What you are seeing in the video is a manufacturing process.

Hi John,

You're description seems good to me and once I get there
I'll try that method. Sorry for my constant questions but I'm
just trying to get the best info I can before I do anything.

Thank you!

transverse brace as well?
I don't because I want that area level (Flat) to the sound hole. While it will be flat it will have a 1.3* slope (or the complimentary angle to your neck if it is different).

It's really amazing to learn how people do things differently
to achieve the same objective....
