Finishing, almost there.

Post by Sunflash »

Ok, so the body of my guitar is done. Just glued the fretboard to the neck, so I am wondering about finishes.
I want to do just a flat shellac I guess. I was thinking spraying would be best for me but I really have no idea.
What kind of finishing is out there for flat not gloss.

You can get a very nice finish easily, using something like Minwax wipe-on poly in a satin, or a gel varnish that is maybe the easiest of all AND it is a flexible, attractive finish.

Here are two links that you might really consider; I've tried a number of the methods shown and they work well.

Good luck, keep in touch.
