Acceptable wood moisture content ?

Post by Coach »

Search didn't reveal much. So, Sitka spruce bracing and soundboard, would you consider these specs acceptable? This would be for a Dreadnought.

How thick is it? If it has been sawn into a 0.150" (or so) thick top for 1 year it may be ok. If it was left as a 2" or 3" board and was recently sawn/split up into thinner stock, I would be leary of using it too soon.

How thick is the bracing stock?

Bracing is .5x2 inch. Top is .15 inch, will have to ask when cut.
