It's all a learning process. Depending on the glue you used, heat and/or moisture will loosen the brace without much of an issue. Titebond Original, fish glue, and hide glue will soften with heat.lonecedar959 wrote:Thanks Everyone
I am going to make another transverse brace and replace it and do it right.
Last time I tried to remove a brace from the top it caused some issues that I don't want to go through again.

I've removed braces using a hair dryer, on hot, aimed at the bottom of the brace. A flat, flexible, metal spatula, like one used to ice cakes, will slip under. Start at one end, and slowly work your way to the other. You can even aim that hot air at the metal spatula, which in turn, heats the spatula, which will loosen the brace. Take your time. The brace will come off cleanly, without damaging the top.
Make sure you clean every speck of glue from the top, before gluing the new brace. You're doing the right thing by replacing it.
