Chatoyance in Wood

I've just finished a dreadnought with back and sides of Australian Blackwood (I'll post about this soon) and it exhibits amazing chatoyance. That got me reading more about chatoyance, both in gems (e.g. Tiger's Eye) and wood. I came across this site which I found very interesting. It says it is about a way to measure chatoyance in wood, but it also has great mini-videos to show chatoyance in many species. There are some examples on the home page, and many more on the "What is Chatoyance" page. (As an aside, this got me wondering if there should be a category on the forum just for "Wood"?) Bruce W.
