Yes, it's a CNC machine.

It's a wee desktop version, so it's not going to do anything fancy like cut necks. It should do little things, like cut the model # and serial # on the neck blocks, cut the sockets for my logo inlay on caps for the headstocks, cut my rosettes out along with the inlay channels. I'm hoping it'll perhaps cut small shapes out of the flat 1mm thick ablam shell that I use for some inlays, down the road.

This is as simple, little, and basic as they come, but it's upgradable. I've just finished the kit. I'm expecting delivery on hard limit switches, and dry PTFE lubricant this afternoon. I'm about to sit down and load the software on the laptop.

The unit is a Ginmitsu Sainsmart 3018-Pro. It runs on GRBL 1.1f and Arduino.

I had a problem with the Y-axis. It seems the screw rod was out of round, so I sent the whole unit back to Amazon. I'm expecting delivery of the new unit tomorrow.

I went ahead and ordered the upgrade spindle, capable of 20,000 rpm, with ball bearings and noise suppression. I had the original working, and it was moving quickly and smoothly on all axis, until the Y suddenly stopped. The motor was working, but when I turned the rod by hand, I could feel it tightening up on one side, all along the rod, so I'm sure the rod was defective.

I upgraded mine to the water cooled RF spindle I learned that I should have ordered it from aliexpress with an er 2o collet but do like the quite running and power. I use a Vcarve pro vectric software.
Looking to find 3d soon. it is a lot to learn but worth it

Thank you John. I'll check out the software. My wee cnc isn't the level or quality of yours, but I can see a lot of use for the little desktop machine.

The Vectric software is pretty good. I've got their Cut2D Desktop and it does a lot for $149. I would love to get their full 3D software (Aspire), but at $1995 that ain't gonna happen.
