John Read made this for me! It will be put to good use, starting today. Note the 2 different scale length wood cauls for the fretboard extensions.
Thank you John!

You are so welcome! I credit you for helping me stay in this game. From my 1st repair to my current build, you have been a mentor and teacher. Best I've ever known. Your work is just beautiful.
Thanks to Bob Gleason for his thread and idea to build it based off the NYT article. I made it a bit more round but tested the size on guitars large and small.
The cauls have a concave radius to match the fretboard.
Thank you John Hall for providing the screws.
I made it by cutting and shaping one piece of the plywood. Then used it as a template. Then router table with flush bit to knock out copies. Then glued 3 together. The veneer is birch from my 1st repair. John Hall joined those replacement plates for me back then. I was so new I had no clue.
I corked the bottom side of the clamp and wondered if it should be shaped to match a guitar's back.
I hope it works! I haven't finished mine yet. Haha

Nice clamp and awesome that it was gifted. Might have to try this with some 5/8" all thread I have a surplus of.

Nice job John. It's great to see someone take a project of mine a step further. That's what I always hope for when I post. -Bob

Here's mine in action. Hot glue setting up. Having it be freestanding and the guitar laying down really makes it go smoothly and quickly.
