Although I am an old dude also, I must admit that I did cheat (google), however, I did have it narrowed down to Zenith or RCA, my first guess was actually Craftsman.

Nothing wrong with going cheap if that is the extent of your financial reach. I guess the takeaway from this thread is buy the best you can afford. If the best is the bargain basement models, then take extra precautions to understand their weaknesses, their capacities, their capabilities, and take extra precautions when setting them up to ensure all bolts/screws/latches are tight and safe, and don't push the tools to do more than they can.
