flush trim bit for cleaning bindings?

I was double checking my bearing sizes (what is this one for? etc.. getting ready to route my L-OO project) at Stewmac and i see this:

NEW! #1298-000 Flush bearing for trimming glued bindings, and newly assembled guitar tops and backs.

Would you use a flush trimming bit to level your bindings to the side? (John I know you like to level the sides to the binding) While it would save significant time scraping, it seems like a rather risky operation. Maybe its just me?

What Rick said. The man is a pro. Plus, why take a router to your guitar any more times than you absolutely have to?

As John points out leveling the sides to the bindings gives the best chance of leaving an even reveal. Indeed leveling the binding with a flush cut bit could be risking -- pretty aggressive for fine detail work such as this. The best and fastest tool I've found is a large diameter bladder sander -- I wonder how we got along without it?

I admit I tried a flush bit one time. Take my advice DO NOT USE ONE unless you want to rebind the guitar. I am with Rick , and Ken I do like my binding as even or a few thou under the sides and scrape sides to the binding. Like rick I scrape and sand before binding.
