I'm in the midst of my first build, and IMO, the radius disks are well worth it.
I don't have to worry too much about the geometry of the top and back, and that's a big deal.
If you cut your braces from scratch they can also serve to get those to the right radius also.. I'm finding them useful in a lot of ways.
A good investment IMO. Especially if you plan on more than a few builds.
