bending fret wire

D you bend fret wire by hand or do you use a machine?

I get mine from a supplier who sells it pre-bent in a coil.

I also get the coils and have not had to bend wire.

I have a little bender that I made. Very simple to tighten the radius to help hold the ends down. Hand bending can put kinks in it. I also use the prebent stuff and sell it. That is fine for most applications. On refrets you may need a touch more.

I like the stuff on coils but when i use sticks I have a notch cut in the edge of my bench that I pull the wire through and bend it. The inch or so at each end stays straight but it is easy enough to do.
You never know what you are capable of until you actually try....
