Hi all.
I am cutting the purfling channel for a D45 style top. I have the full set of 19 bearings from STEWMac. Of course the size I need is not in the kit. I needed a bearing that was one size smaller in order to cut a wide enough purfling channel.
Does anyone know of a company that carries these other than Stew Mac and LMI?
LMI has them but you need their cutter bit since the bore (inside dia) is smaller than StewMacs.
Thanks for any advice.

Re: Router Bearing Bit Sizes
grizzly tools also has a kit of bearing piloted rabbet router bits.

you can always use a bit of tape to shim the cutter ,you can also check out the bits as they also have individual bearing offerings

Re: Router Bearing Bit Sizes
I have been looking at this from a bearing size perspective.
A 1/4 rabbeting router bit with a bearing will be just a tad larger than I need.

Re: Router Bearing Bit Sizes
I use the LMI bearing kit. It comes with a 1" cutter. The largest size it will cut is .230 - not enough for some pearl inlay work. CMT made a 1 1/4" cutter which fits the LMI bearings. It allows me to cut over .300 - more than enough for any purfling scheme.
So, the short answer is, find a larger cutter (that will use your bearings) that will give you what you need!
