Cool Junk Store

Post by Tarhead »

I found this place searching for something Woodworking related and thought it would be of interest to everyone...it's kind of a geeky surplus store with useful stuff for people who build things. If you're in the Chicago or Milwaukee area it's a cool store to get lost in. Standard disclaimers apply:

http://www.sciplus.com/manifesto.cfm

Here are things I just grabbed:
#10, #11 Scapels $1.95/3 http://www.sciplus.com/singleItem.cfm/terms/7386
Watch Case Knife $1.95 http://www.sciplus.com/singleItem.cfm/terms/9465
White Lead Pencils $.95/12 http://www.sciplus.com/singleItem.cfm/terms/10585
Utile Plast cool heat activated, re-usable, moldible plastic for custom gluing cauls or whatever (like Friendly Plastic) $7.95/3Oz http://www.sciplus.com/singleItem.cfm/terms/15568

also Pipettes, squeeze bottles for Shellac/Alcohol/Water, centrifuge tubes (great for Scrollsaw blade storage), Alcohol burners (to heat up the end of the pipette to make it a micro pipette for precision CA application, watch case knife to unglue mistakes, etc), bearings and heaps of totally useless junk.

Thanks Tarhead!

Im in the Chicago area and will certainly be planning a visit to this place. Looks very interesting, and you cant beat the prices on some of this stuff.

Now, if I can only find a use for a usb digital telescope/microscope.....
