I am new to building/repair. Can anyone tell me the best glue for regluing a bridge. I have the are clean sanded.

I use tite bond . the important thing is to get a good clean wood to wood contact .

Yes, thanks for the link. Good info. The word floating around on various forums was the hide glue was best and that liquid hide glue didn't measure up. It would be nice to know where LMI glue fits in the categories I assume it is a PVA glue as well.

There have been a number of articles in woodworking magazines recently that the major factor in glue bond strength is that glue soak into the wood on both sides of the joint. Don't let the glue skin over before fitting; or better yet, apply a thin coat to both sides of the joint.

This is one of those things that is obvious in retrospect, isn't it?

Yellow Carpenter's glue (Alphatic Resin Emulsion) seems like the best option for standard through pin style bridges right now for me. It's what Taylor has been using since day one, you can get it at Walmart, it's reversible with moderate heat applied to the bridge and it doen't need any mixing/prep.

I wonder if anyone has any guidance about about not wiping off with a solvent (Acetone) the glue surface of Ebony and Rosewood before gluing? What I heard was that the solvent mobilizes the oils and brings more to the surface and this weakens the bond compared to just gluing a freshly milled/sanded surface. Kinda goes against everything I have heard before.
