Millers Falls No 7 plane

Post by Nick R. »

Hi All, I'm new to this forum and also new to guitar building, I picked up a rusty block plane at a yard sale for $3.00 when I was cleaning it up I saw the name stenciled"Millers Falls No. 07" it has a skewed blade looks to be 110* also
might be low angle 7" block plane my question How do you sharpen the plane iron, doesn't fit my sharpening jig and just not savvy enough to sharpen by hand. Thanks for any advise Nick R.

You should be able to get it on the jig. Can you post pics?

A lot of jigs will take chisels or plane blades. If yours won't, you may need to get a different one.

$3.00! You're kidding. I'll give you $5.00 for it :D

I use a jig I bought from Grizzly and my old Delta wet grinder. I check the angles compulsively.
