Re: plans for bender
I made my bender more accessible by mounting it to a pipe stand. my work space is too small for me to access all sides of the bender during use so this should allow me to walk completely around the work if I need to. It also allows me the ability to adjust the height.

Re: plans for bender
I would be interested in the plans, as well.
I was looking at the "Cheap-o-bender" on Lint the other day. What sort of warnings are there in bending with light blubs? Is it lack of control of temperature and/or uneven heating across the wood? I could see where a heating blanket (or two in a "sandwich") would be consistent.
Where can a person buy the spring steel used next to the heating blanket?
Thanks,
Steve Cooper

luthierscooltools.com sells plans for a blanket heated side bending jig for $25. I've used them and the plans are good. That jig from LMI is $635, not including the silicone blankets.
