I found a full set of blocks . If you can change one , why not make one ? I use 16 and 20 the most

Sure you can change it. You will, in effect, be making a radius block with the radius you wanted but instead of starting with flat stock, you started with a curved piece. Why change the one you have? Why not just make a new one? Then you will have two radius blocks.

yes that's true...
this is a very curved block i've got; i think it's a 6". i am thinking about flattening it [to 10" ] with a straight bar.
so with what grits of sandpaper would you start doing this to make sure it's taking the wood effectively?
