Do Custom Kits Exist?

Post by Sunset »

Good Day Members,

Two questions please:

Question #1
Has anyone "tweaked" their kit experience - for example- by building your own neck from scratch and then purchasing only a body kit (if such a thing exists). In other words, are there any kit suppliers that offer custom purchases such as body only or neck only?

Question #2
Also, are there any kit suppliers that will let you choose what woods you prefer to build with? For example, a kit with a Sitka Spruce top and a host of other proven alternative tone-wood varieties for the back and sides?

Thank you kindly! Be safe!

Call Blues Creek 570-682-8046; John Hall will take care of you and help you get just what you want. And yes, tweaking is not unusual.

Thank you everyone! Thank you John Hall. Yes, I am already working with John @ Blues Creek but was just curious as to who's offering what. Trying to get the lay-of-the-land out there so to speak. Be well!

As noted, LMI offers customizable kits, but for true individual attention and flexibility, John is The Man.

You could also totally wing it on your own and assemble all the parts and materials yourself, but that may be a trifle ambitious at this stage.

I had my own back and side woods. I ordered specific materials from John Hall, who customized everything for me.

I have done the following through John

Put together a "normal" kit
Put together a custom kit with altered parts
Give me everything but the neck
Bend sides I was afraid to bend
Sell me parts and supplies

Like having your own Guitar Ace Hardware Store

Thanks John
