I just recieved all of my materials for my build I'm starting mid January. It will be 100% scratch under the supervision of the instructors at Minnesota State Southeast Tech.
I'm going to be building a 14th fret, OM model guitar. The plans are a modified version of martins to make it look a little less "square" shaped, and bring the waist out to lower risk of breaking sides.
Materials:
Bearclaw Lutz spruce top
Hawaiian Koa back and sides
flamed maple bindings with .040" b/w/b laminate
Brown MOP rosette
5 piece mahogany neck hog/ebony/maple/ebony/hog
basswood reverse kerfing
Gotoh gold tuners
ebony headcap
Ind rosewood fingerboard/bridge
Probably more things I'm forgetting about. Now that I have it all, I'm truly excited to get to building it. It will by far be the best guitar I've built, and definitely owned. When it's started Ill keep the forum posted.
