Sorry, still not there yet. First, what's the scale length on the martin d18? 24.9? If so, do I mark for the bridge 12.5" fron the center of the 12th fret? Next I'm not sure how I can work on the angle adjustment without the shims glued on. With the shims placed (not glued) I now have some elavation at the joint (just a hair under an 1/8), but the straight edge doesn't ride on the neck (clearance @ 14th) and lays flat where the bridge would be, roughly.
I watched Johns videos again (how did anyone build guitars without the internet, ha!). I know I need to take some off the heel but without the shims really set wont the elevation be changing everytime a seat the joint and check the angle? Maybe I just need to get started on it and see how it comes together, worst case I buy another neck, and try it again?
