Springback on bent sides

Here's a newbie reply for you, then... :)

Bent sides aren't a jack-in-the-box, waiting to smack you in the face when you open the box. If they've sprung back, they did so with whatever space they had available. I've never seen lmi packaging but if they locked the sides in place somehow that's probably as good as a mold. If the sides were packed loose and had any intention of springing back, they would have done so by now.

I say open the box and take it from there... you can always do a MacGyver mold to hold things together in case things look iffy while you build the actual mold but I think you are quite safe.

If the sides were going to have any spring back, it would have happened in or out of the box. Spring back is a function of the wood used and how it was bent. Keeping it in the LMI box and not in a mold was your only option, but not the best one. Check them out. You might be able to wet them a bit and fit them into a mold. If they were bent well, and LMI does a good job, there wont be much spring back.
