Necks
Hi guys.
For all of my builds I have used a neck that was supplied within a kit or a Martin "second" that I was able to get.
Is there a source other than those two for a Martin style neck?
Now that I am actually selling some guitars the term "seconds" has a bad ring to it for some people even if it is saving them money.
Thanks for any ideas.

My favorite is Hanalei-Moon guitars, but the big storm put them out of business for a while. So, try Waldron Guitars:

Re: Necks
I never ordered from Martin but the neck I got from Blue Creek Guitars for a Martin D and the neck I got from Waldron for my acoustic bass were both top notch both in construction and in the wood selection. Either could be shipped in a high end guitar.

Re: Necks
I'm certain John Hall has a good neck but I've not yet used one. Hannalei Moon has a great neck and I've used a couple of them.

Re: Necks
Martin thought it was worth it. Your question is asking for a subjective opinion. If you are happy with the necks and they match your quality bar then it may not be worth it.watergunn wrote:Thanks guys.
I was wondering if it was worth the cost for the difference in the necks.
I have never had any issues with the Martin seconds.

Re: Necks
Thanks.
I know it was a very subjective question.
I was looking for other's opinions as to what they are using.
As I said I have had no issues with the Martins. I just did not know if there were actually "better" necks that were worth the extra costs.
Thanks for all of the help guys.
