Purfling and cocobolo
Does anyone have any pics that they would share with purfling combinations with cocobolo?
I have someone wanting me to build one but is not sure about what would look best.
I am leaning towards ivoroid and herringbone myself. But I am sure that there are many other combos.
Thanks

Re: Purfling and cocobolo
I guess this picture doesn't show it very well, but I can add one later when I get home.
This was cocobolo with koa binding...it was a nice combo in my honest opinion.
Oh you were asking about purfling. There is a .030" BWB purfling on the sides with the Koa, and .060" BWB on the top and back. Again, I'll post some other pics that show it better later if you want to see them.

What a beauty!
Did you use a particular stain if any on the cocobolo or the koa?

No stain. Clear pore filler and clear lacquer
It is a beautiful wood, and the Koa complimented it nicely. I think Taylor uses that combo too.

Here you go, a few to show the contrast, no finish and under finish.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think that the client will want this combination. I know I want one.
Can you tell me what glues you used with the cocobolo and the binding/purflings?
I have been doing some test with tite bond and weldon wth mixed results.
Thanks again.
