Which top woods are better mates sonically with cocobolo back and sides?

what ya making ? For a fingerpicker engleman is good ,for a pickin guitar , try some carpathian , it may surprise you.

Well, I'm not making it yet. Just lining up what I have and where it fits in my order of 'next in line' projects. I'd like for it to be a strummer but I don't think I'll get more than 15" across the lower bout leaving me with an OM or a 000 as the largest possibilities. From what I've read, those sizes aren't great for strumming.

I used bear claw sitka on a dred with coco and it sounds great, just like a Sjostrand is suppose to sound! :>) He he.

Norman Blake plays a 000/12 fret to the body, if I'm not mistaken, and that man is a flatpicker, so it can be done.
