This Set Suitable for Bending?

I'm about to start a resonator build for a friend of mine. We think walnut would work well and we are considering this set of Claro. The owner will cut us a deal on price if we want it. Only potential issue I see is that the sides go from very well quartered on one end to off-quarter on the other end. Walnut supossedly bends very well.......do you think I will have bending issues if I place the off-quarter end in the lower bout where the bend radius isn't as tight? I'm thinking I'll be ok but wanted some feedback.

Here is another pic with different lighting. The figure on the sides doesn't show as well oriented 90 deg to the light but the owner says the figure and color match the back perfectly.

Fiddleback woodshack? That's a colorful set. I can't help with bending, but I like it!

I would go for it and pit the off quarter part in the lower bout like you said. I love figured wood and I love walnut. Particularly Claro.

That is some beautiful walnut. I am also a big fan of figured wood (and women too). I have done several non-guitar projects with figured walnut (Knick-knack trays, jewelry boxes, fishing rod racks, etc). It's a nice wood to work with, I just love it, it should make a wonderful guitar!

You never really know for sure -- but Walnut is very easy to bend, even slab cut. Put the well quartered section at the upper bout. Check out the material for grain delamination -- if its solid all should go well. Have the seller allow a return if the wood is not 100% sound.
