Thank you to everyone who has been testing out the chat room. It is good to see that it is working for people. When it has been completed, I am sure there will be some scheduled events so that we don't end up having to talk to ourselves!

Thanks again for helping test it out. Others who have not tried it out yet, feel free to give it a test run and leave some feedback.

johnnparchem,

Internet Explorer uses an Active X plugin and not standard protocol for some Javascript AJAX calls needed to run the chat. I'll have a go at tackling that problem to see that we can get the chat room working for Internet Explorer as well. I am sure there are others that would like to see that happen.

here here. I use IE9 and really don't want to load another just for chatting.
Thanks Sean,

Kevin

Seen it mentioned many times but in this context, what does the word 'bump' mean?

It "renews" the age of the topic. In most forums, topics are listed by most recent post.
A bump gives new life to an older topic.

I'm obliged for that info.

Cheers and thanks,

I have not attempted to write an IE9 version of chat yet. I will try to do that sometime soon.
