Bob,
There are bread crumbs at the top and bottom of each topic. They look similar to this:
Board index >>
Everything Else >>
Forum Software Questions and Answers
Clicking the last bread crumb will take you to the forum you last visited. The second to last bread crumb is the category that forum is in and the first is the list of all category forums.
