Posting small sound files?

Hi Sean,
Any chance there is room to add being able to put up a small sound file of a new guitar.....obviously would need a size limit, and perhaps for a limited time; maybe a week, then you could remove it so it doesn't clog up your space?
This would be great for all the builders to be able to share their guitars being played easily and I know we would all like to hear them all.

I was thinking cause I am not crazy about putting anything up on You Tube, I don't do Facebook, and I don't have a website that can host files like this.
What do you think, doable at all?

Kevin

there are ways to put things on youtube, so that your clip will not be found in the search results on that site. but if you post the link here, people will be able to go right to it.

there are other sites where you can post sound clips very simply and easily, like soundcloud. it is probably going to be easier for us to post clips on soundcloud than it will be for sean to add functionality to this site, and then to manage the clips.

i'm sure you have your reasons for not wanting to put stuff on youtube. but one of my clips there of my first guitar has more than 2100 views.

Hey guys, I'll take a look at this after the symposium sometime. It shouldn't be difficult functionality to add.

Hi Sean,
Great that you are working on this. I can't play the test file, but I get a window that pops up and takes me to an apple website for add-ons.
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/resource ... csubtype=0

Do I need one of these to make the playback work?

Kevin

I see 2 files a quicktime file (apple) and an mp3 file. Any of the players would play the mp3 file. Although as an attachment they need to downloaded as a file and opened.

All of the mp3 test files worked for me.
